Located within Beijing Zoo at No. 137 Xizhimen Outer Street, Xicheng District, the Beijing Aquarium is China's largest and most advanced indoor aquarium, covering a total area of 30 acres (12 hectares). It is designed in the shape of a seashell, with orange and blue as its primary colours, symbolising the mysterious vastness of the sea and the boundless vitality of marine life. The Beijing Aquarium has seven halls: Rainforest Wonder, Bering Strait, Whale and Dolphin Bay, Chinese Sturgeon Hall, Seabed Travel, Touch Pool, and Ocean Theatre.
