Beijing Olympic Park is the venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games. It covers a total area of 1,159 hectares, of which 680 hectares in the north form the Olympic Forest Park, 315 hectares make up the central zone, and 164 hectares in the south are occupied by facilities from the 1990 Asian Games. The park was designed to house ten venues, the Olympic Village, and supporting facilities, and has since been transformed into an integrated, multifunctional activity center for the public.
