Pudong International Airport is the main international airport serving Shanghai, China, located 30 km (19 miles) east of the city centre. It is a major aviation hub in China and serves as the primary hub for China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines, as well as a hub for Spring Airlines and Juneyao Airlines, and a secondary hub for China Southern Airlines. PVG currently has four parallel runways, and an additional satellite terminal with two more runways has recently opened, bringing the airport's capacity to 80 million passengers per year. In 2017, the airport served 70,001,237 passengers, making it the second-busiest airport in mainland China and the 9th busiest in the world. By the end of 2016, PVG served 210 destinations and hosted 104 airlines.
